…Desire. Is it not the first emotion that arises when we aim to achieve something that we perceive great? The strength to which we feel desire, ultimately determines our level of success.
How many times have you heard the statement that the winner “just wanted it more.” This is not just a throwaway comment – infact… desire is the driving force that lifts the champions or would be champions to the podium.
This is why, when an athletes desire is ‘primed’, almost any training that the athlete does will generate results. But if the athletes desire ebbs, there is no training plan in the world that will make a difference becuase weak desire always delivers weak results.
If you truly desire your goals to the point of an obsession, then no obstacles, excuses, will stop you. You’ll have no problems making the sacrifices to achieve it.
You’ll come to understand the term “sacrifice” not as something that you give up to pursue your goal, but as something you do that takes you away from your goals. When your desire is strong and in place, all else flows from it. You’ll find it easy to leave your self no possible way of retreat from obtaining your objective — true, burning desire won’t let you rest until have your goal.
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back — Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, the Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occured. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have comes his way. What ever you can do, or dream to you can do do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it NOW.” — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
