TriSpecific Health Professionals and Products
Over the years I have searched for health practitioners or products that work and can help keep athletes uninjured or when injuries or niggles do occur they can be treated quickly and get you back out there training and performing at your potential. Below are some people, companies and products that have helped keep me injury free and I know they can do the same for you.
TP Massage Ball Trigger Point Technologies is bringing relief to thousands of athletes afflicted with Plantar Fasciitis, IT Band Syndrome, Piriformis Syndrome, and more. With their Patent Pending technology, the TP Massage Ball, Footballer, Quadballer and Baller Block are designed to treat the problem vs. the symptom. Force feeding blood and oxygen into the belly of a muscle creates elasticity, resulting in wattage, power and general comfort.
The TP Massage Ball, Footballer and Quadballer’s dense materials mirror the feeling of a human thumb changing shape after five to seven seconds of pressure. The trigger point of the targeted muscle is then forced to relax, relieving the spasm.
Trigger Point Technologies have arguably the most in depth website about treating overuse injuries. The site will teach you not only how to get rid of the symptom but how to get rid of it at its cause.
Charlotte and I have been using the total body package for around two years now and its worth its weight in GOLD! Self Myofascial Release using the TP Massage Ball products offer a highly effective, inexpensive and convenient way to both decrease adhesions and scar tissue accumulation.
TP Therapy products are coming to Australia. The official launch of TP Therapy Australia will be on the 28th of March at Ironman Australia Expo in Port Macquarie. Drop by and say hi and walk away with the knowledge that with consistent use TP therapy products will keep you injury free. HypO2 TherapiesHyperbaric recovery – how it works
Increasing the levels of Oxygen in the cells can reverse the damaging effects of injury, illness and increase the recovery process, meaning we can resume training quicker from an injury or actively recover quicker thus adapting to the training stimulus in a positive way.
Hyperbaric (hyper-increased, baric-pressure), state of the art filters pump fresh air into the chamber to increase the air pressure. It’s not pumping you full of oxygen-its ambient air not oxygen-you are increasing the ability of your cells to extract oxygen from the air.
First it dissolves extra oxygen into the blood plasma providing immediate support to areas with compromised blood flow. Second it reduces swelling by vasoconstriction. And finally it starts the formation of new peripheral vascular vessels and nerve endings in damaged areas of the body.
I used Hypo2 to recover from a shoulder rehabilitation in February this year. I went straight from the hospital for a session and then for the following four days. The swelling had gone and I was out of the sling in two weeks and not the 6 I had been told!
Charlotte Paul first used hyperbaric therapy in the lead up to Ironman Western Australia in November 2005. "I focused on perfect recovery and less on training large volumes. By using hyperbaric therapy my recovery was far better and enabled me to back up quality training sessions. It is in the recovery that adaptations occur, and you get faster. A personal best Iron man marathon split of 3 hours 10 minutes showed that this approach worked."
